Hi all
I play TM since 2010 and i like a lot multilap maps and endurance.
One thing that i miss is that the people do fantastic Huds of fuel and tyres and a good pit system, but... there are something that... is strange...
I know, a lot of people will say, buy an F1 game or this is TM not real life...
Yes but you have to see that there are a lot of people playing with a bad pit system.
Please developers, I don't want a realistic system of a pit with mechanics moving and the tyres change xD i only want for example that when you stop in a block you get a black screen, but that you can add it in the track editor with a siple click
Thx for the attention

Re: (Suggestion) A pit system
Nice idea ^_^ I'd say, if you wanted a pit system, make one!
Now, I know it's not that simple--and I absolutely am TERRIBLE at mediatracker so I'm a fine one to just say "Hey, go make a whole new game system!" but that's the beauty of the MT system--is that if you have an idea, especially now with the new interface and graphical effects, you can likely implement it!
I'd definitely ask in the Media/Track building/Mediatracker sections for more specific help, but if you wanted a tutorial, here's how I would do it:
*Set an "in race cam" to be the standard cam with all the HUD effects, and add a "fuel gauge" on one side, or wherever you want to put it.
*Set a countdown timer that would activate from the race start, and count down to zero. For example, each car will have 300 seconds of fuel (that's 5min).
*Create a script that is an if/then script to check if the timer has reached zero. If no, then everything's normal. If yes, gradually fade the screen to black so that the car is rendered undriveable until reset.
*A second script would be necessary for the pit--the car would have to sit in the pits for at least 5 sec (or whatever you decide) until the counter "resets", and then you're good to drive again. Hope this helps!

Nice idea
It could be fun for Nascar races to have this system
But i don't think that it will added in the next update.

Re: (Suggestion) A pit system
This is a very simple system to make just using the mediatracker. I know this because I have made it before on a old TM track some years ago.
I will try and replicate it and show a working track.

Re: (Suggestion) A pit system
Here's a quick crude working pit stop in canyon.
The two small images need to go into your Maniaplanet custom data folders, Maniaplanet/Media/Images

With some more mediatracker work and better images you can make a real good pit stop.
Hope it's near to what you're looking for.

Re: (Suggestion) A pit system
I think that Nadeo should add a lot more options in the MT like variables and mini scripts like for the camera script block, activable with the normal triggers.
That would add a lot more opportunities.

Re: (Suggestion) A pit system
I think there's no need for an official pit system, because once the TM modes are converted to ManiaScript, you could easily make a F1 Script based on Laps mode. Add a few custom objects, like a block that does exactly the refilling, make a titlepack out of it and... DONE

I was just talking about script editing in the mediatracker not pit script.
Re: (Suggestion) A pit system
Nice feedback from everybody.
I love it when the comunity has cool ideas and feedback.
The game is fun by it's self but when people like everyone in this topic come up with new ideas it gets even better.
I too like the idea of pits. If nothing else on long tracks it gives you a chance to blink your eyes a bit, take a sip of water and get ready to go again.
@jjaaperoloco2: Add your idea to the topic: What new block do you want to see? I know Nadeo looks at it when there are new ideas.
