I feel that the demo is a great gift to share with endless amount of fun to have with, and more specially with super titles that are done or being done. I think that your wishes, comments, help and arguments are probably better to be brought toward them. And thanks to the super setup, it's as easy to welcome other players, and they can play freely until the titles itself becomes popular enough.
Meanwhile, I believe that you have waited a lot from us, and it's normal. More especially since we are on the forum to read everything. Some have been here on nearly a daily basis to try to make things right etc. But now, I believe they should trust us with the fact that we did the foundations of all this: Trackmania, Nations, United, Battle, Elite, Siege, Royal and etc. And so that we will come back with the next big steps.
I often said that the ones that were negative were making things worse for the others. And I think it's also something you should care, now that the big updates have been done. If you look in various places, you can see people say wrong or negative things as well. For me, when someone as novationx says "I already shared the demo on my FB page & invited friends. I cant do more at the moment
" I believe he can use more of his endless and great energy to make comments and argue to make things more right. I am not asking him, I am just illustrating that if you look at the number of requests, comments, feedbacks, wishes and judgements that have been made, there is still plenty of room to add some comments in the outside world ^_^If I take an article released about the demo as an example.
From the 12 comments, let's take 50% of them, and comment:
1. "Release on Steam or GTFO"
It's on steam
2. "Nadeo used to be unapologetic about using harmful DRM like Starforce. They make exceptional games but their ethics are questionable. If possible get a Steam version instead of downloading it from them."
Not only we are trying to bring a lot of ethic in our game, but it was our previous publisher policy to use Starforce and Steam is some sort of DRM as well, even if I appreciate and approve most of what they do!
3. "Servers empty + Scared of Epigenesis' release = Free trial?"
We are too addicted to very own shooter to be afraid that it lacks interest. There is too many players in France compared to other countries to know that there is mainly a communication issue to at least multiply the audience. And we know as well that we can improve many things, as we did in the past and so provide even more opportunities. Our game is not "done" and so we have plenty of reason to hope for the game being big. And hope is the opposite of scared.
4. "these mini games should be free to play"
The games we are talking about are some of the ones with the biggest list of feature in games, with map editor, script for modes, dedicated servers compatible with server managers, replay editor, title management, planets (ok, it's a joke here ^_^) news system, buddies management, endless content and years of making of highly technical datas for blocks etc.
5. "I logged into Trackmania 2 Stadium maybe two nights ago and there was one other player online."
The stats display that never in the night, the game is going under 100 players. It's maybe not online, but a comment like that is just a misleading information for other people. Maniaplanet reach between 1500 & 2000 simultaneous players everyday since a year.
6. "Ubi$oft bought nadeo, end of trackmania."
Ubisoft is a big company, with litthe mistakes and huge achievements. Thanks at being here, it's possible to make the Maniaplanet of our dream, as big as possible, and to bring it to players of Trackmania 1 and others, as a great evolution, full of new spaces, like for the Titles: Stunters, WTC, Trackmania RPG, RAID, PMC, Racing Evolutions etc.
My points were complicated, as often, not clear, like most of the time, but MY wish is for players to put their energy towards the others now, while we put ours as well into next big steps, including Power Up, Maniaplanet and undisclosed upcoming things.
I will lock this topic to illustrate that the comments and the debates are less for here. And if you see somewhere that our way is to lock topics, please consider that I made more than 3000 posts here so far in the last four years ^_^
And thank you again for the wonderfully positive players that brought us the biggest support we can hope to make all of this. There is more than 10K players per day, and I feel this to be more than an addition of 10 players match. Like if it was one single big thing, thanks to the ability to create and share
