[Suggestion] Server Controller plugin

Wasn't too sure where to post this so I just did it here.

SmartMapPicker - Ingame plugin concept

Here are a list of features:

- More map data on how often maps are played and skipped.

- New map leaderboard based on how often maps are played, skipped and with the influence of map karma rating.

- Server chooses maps based on a policy such as 60% chance of picking out of the top 15 maps, 25% chance of trending maps and 15% chance of a new map.

- After a match has been played the plugin will ask each player to rate the map if they haven't done so and offer the ability to send the author feedback.

I think this would greatly encourage the community to actively rate maps while offering all new maps to have the best possible exposure needed.

Keep backup of all map versions so we can keep track if the community prefers the older versions.

If above feature is added
After map changeover and during warm-up ask each player if they like to try a different version of the current map. Giving a list of all versions sorted by rank with additional information such as map karma, plays and skips.

I love the idea of the smart map picker. I had done something similar for Aseco, not as extensive to check user behaviours but it had other few nice things. My idea is also to incomporate a style/difficulty thinghy. the idea came from another teams tool, speed something not sure now.


So you have one maplist on all your servers, and you configure this system by adding rules, to play only some maps.

I really wish I had time and motivation
