[MP3][bug] Blocks in lightmap/shadows

There are a some minecraft style shadows appearing on HQ settings with HQ shadows, when using a mod:

The mood used is morning.

The issue only appears, when using a mod and only in regions covered by a shadow, as you can see in the picture. Direct sunlight works fine.

On low quality shadows and HQ gfx settings it's fine too.

Hello,

I wasn't able to reproduce your issue which looks to be the lightmap sampler being wrongly set to "point" instead of "trilinear".
I've tried both on a simple map with your mod, and with your map, I always have the trilinear filter.

I'm assuming you're using the "sunrise" mood ?

I don't think it's related to your mod, yet I don't from what could come this issue.

Where can I find the options to change the lightmap sampler?
btw what exactly does the lightmap sampler do?
I guess it picks the area for which it shall calculate ONE shadow brightness/darkness :?:

And the mood uses was "morning" aka "sunrise" the description in your pictures says "sunset" tho :P

This lightmap sampler is an internal thing, it should never let being set to point, it's looks to be a game issue, yet as I'm not able of getting your issue at work, there is almost no chance to fix it.

Could you try to compute a small map with your mod, save it then quit the game, relaunch_without_update, reload your map to see if the point sampling is still there ?

Have you seen other textures point filtered (except the ones we want to like stadium adverts), when you get close to them (other than the lightmap) ?

Did work somehow when we updated the mod (just some textures) and restarted the game + calculating shadows again. :yes:
