Dutch tv program where trackmania players play against each other. This is live also when watching tv. This tv-show is the only one i think that promotes it but at the moment they are not really making an name for themselves.

About the relay spectating.
It would be really cool to filter the chat. So for example, if there are 3-4 relays (e.g. FET-Final relay A-D) that you can switch between the chat of the different servers.
e.g.
I'm on relay A, but wanne see, what's written on the other servers.
Then we can have different chat streams (matchserver, relay A,B,C and D). So i can switch between the serverschatstreams and read (all) and write to them (only relay chatstream). Also a longer chatbox would be great, where you can scroll a little bit (more than just pressing c in TMF).

Since TM2/SM/QM environments are not free, it might be nice to have a client that is free, but with which you can only see relay servers and nothing else. Would be a security risk, but it would also allow people to check the game out in some for at least, or spectate big matches for environments they don't have.

not bad the idea Zooz... Having some client named "TMView" which only open the server, maybe without interface or smth. Can be possibly made without security problems
Nice suggestions, love it!

No, it should be ManiaPlanetView then because that would be part of the platform

Re: [Tools] Spectator Mode and Replays saving
Hey, back to the OP's topic, one thing I would like to see is some more documentation about spectator controls. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but it felt to me that I sorta got dumped into a replay the first time when I was watching live and the game said "Here ya go!" and that was it. I didn't know how to switch cars I was watching or anything. I figured it out of course eventually, but to me, the controls were -anything- but intuitive.

A free client to watch relay servers? That may be a good idea. It would almost have to contain much of the game engine in my opinion for people to get the feel of how it would work on the person's system. Otherwise it would just need only be another YouTube if it say , ran in a browser, on a cell phone, nintendo ds. you get the idea.zooz wrote:Since TM2/SM/QM environments are not free, it might be nice to have a client that is free, but with which you can only see relay servers and nothing else. But now that I think of it a phone viewer app or a plugin for the Trackmania DSi version might be cute. viewing live replays may be a good way to promote interest.
