trying to set up dedicated LAN server for eductation

Hi team,
I am a teacher using Nadio Shootmania Storm and trackmania canyon for education. Am trying to get more complex and allow students more mod possibilities by setting up a dedicated server. I have read the documentation and have downloaded the server zip and extracted it..
Also have created a server account at mania planet but am not sure how the log in and password in the config file will work as I am working strictly LAN offline
so from the start when I go to edit the config file and then try the run the server the first error I get is no config file. sorry but the guide says put it in the UserData\Config but is this supposed to be just the same folder as it is in from the download? so sorry to be such a Noob, I am a teacher and know this is cool for students but have no idea what I am doing!
Please if you can help me I would REALLY appreciate your time and patience.

the cfg files are in Userdata\Config, and can be used on the command line like this:

Assuming you have extracted the dedicated server to have e.g. c:\ManiaplanetBetaServer\ManiaplanetServer.exe and all other files and subdirectories there.
Open a cmd line window, or use a batch file:

ManiaPlanetServer.exe /title=SMStorm /game_settings=MatchSettings/SMStormBattle1.txt /dedicated_cfg=dedicated_cfg_SM_Storm.txt

The matchsettings files would be in UserDate\Maps\Matchsettings
