Issue with adding maps via /admin add

Post by AtomicLiquid »

Hello, I'm having issues with adding maps from mania exchange. The maps just shows up as "unknown" and will not be added to the list.

It seems like it's because they've been added before, but they're not in the maplist.

Take a look into the logfile from the dedicated server, sometimes a map can't be added because of missing blocks, missing shadows... or something (but the method "CheckMapForCurrentServerParams" say it's ok and that's why UASECO can't catch this failure).

I've both restarted the server, uaseco and checked the logs. All seems okay. After a restart last night, all the maps in the mx folder had disappeared and if I add the same maps, it will be added as "unknown" with no actual file being added. I run TMStadium@nadeo.

I also have a weird delay on the uaseco plugin, where the server runs quite well, but the uaseco itself is quite laggy, meaning the local record/dedimania records shows up after 5 seconds. I've checked the processor usage, but it's not hard on the CPU usage either.

That lag , I see that on more servers.
There is a server where the lag is almost a minute , quit fun while chatting :P takes ages to get a answer :D

All the maps in MX folder ? you need te set the matchsettings file saved automatic , so if you restart the server you have always the same maps.

I think there is still a bug or so.
I added a map from MX , drove a record and erased the map from the server.
When after a while adding the same map again ,the server also says "unknown".
But the map gets added somehow.

( my servers are always haunted , maybe something to do with halloween )

Hahah, well the chat works just fine on my end, the only issue is that UASECO just tears itself apart in an hour or so after starting it. I found the maps in the MX folder, and it contains 60 maps, but they will not show up on the server itself...

Hi,
This sounds like the issue I get quite regularly, & I thought was a known bug, as I reported it a while back, & have a workaround. It happens mostly when you don't do a "/admin writemaplist" after adding tracks, and then the tracks are either deleted, or the server is restarted.
I posted the workaround here: viewtopic.php?p=289579#p289579
Hopefully that should sort your issue. Note also that once you've tried to add one of these "unknown" tracks, they get added to your Jukebox still, & never get removed, unless you manually delete them, by doing "/jukebox display" and then clicking the offending line (Clear all doesn't remove).

To prevent this, you must always do a writemaplist after adding tracks, which tbh almost goes unsaid anyway - you HAVE to do this in order to not lose the added tracks, so I still don't quite understand why it can't be included in the add command (maybe optionally) so I don't have to rely on my admins remembering all the time lol! :)
