maintaining the old games is also good but if we're thinking about the old players as customers who already left doesn't want to come back again because of the bad shootmania storm past.
Indeed, why update the old games if people don't play them anymore? I agree. It's a waste of resources. (Not saying nobody plays Storm anymore by the way, just using this statement as an example.) However, like I said before, Nadeo made a choice of "unifying" all the games into one (ManiaPlanet) which requires them to maintain all games. (Or at least make sure that all games are working fine after every update.)

This is why I think Turbo is in a really good place - it hasn't received updates in a very long time, so the game won't ever break unless Nadeo happens to take the servers offline. If Turbo was part of ManiaPlanet, Nadeo would be forced to maintain Turbo until the end of ManiaPlanet's existance.

This ties in to what I wrote above. This is not possible with the ManiaPlanet model, these things need to happen at the same time.

i think the problem is the maniaplanet engine itself. if they're adding new features e.g. to trackmania like the new champion mode update it shouldn't create bugs in shootmania. these games have to be independent from each other but it doesn't look like so.
e.g. cars in shootmania? The originally concept of the shootmania genre has to be a "fast paced" shooter like quake or unreal tournament. noboby needs cars although It's a funny feature to have this but it doesn't have to be in a fast fps game.

It's Shootmania Storm and not GTA ShootMania or TrackRacing Online.

instead of taking a discussion about the bad situation in shootmania "storm" try to finish shootmania cryo and maybe some customers comes back again (i would play it tbh)
While I somewhat agree, I think you're missing the point here - it's not just about making a new game (they are making a new game, don't get me wrong), it's also about maintaining the old games. Especially since they're a part of the ManiaPlanet engine as a whole.
In my opinion, its also about not doing the same mistakes in the future again, especially in the new game.

And since ManiaPlanet is a whole platform for many games, its their job to maintain older games like Shootmania, even if its 6 years old. If the games would have been done on separate platforms, this maintaining would not be needed. Sure it would be nice to have some updates then, but you cant destroy anything by just bringing new stuff to other games.
No risk, no fun!

The long-road idea with making SM great and very big after 10 years is just... shit. Maybe it would have worked in 1980 but not in 2019 where the consumers need to have anything new every 1-2 years. If you really believe it would work in the current world, you are lost.
And even with that type of words, I still took the time to explain that we did update, that we tried some stuff, that we intend to fix some but most importantly that we can't communicate because of marketing and that we are working on the future of Shootmania.

Then too many posts with angry stuff and lessons. No discussion possible. So I think it is useless to go further there. You will be frustrated and hate me. I will go back spend my days working for Trackmania or Shootmania. No need to have someone to be paid to accept your bad words and insults. And if you think I am the one to grown up, I think you are quite wrong.

I know it's because there is passion about the game. Someone told me that people hates me, while I am the one that made the game, that brought the energy and ask so many things to the team and Ubisoft to support it. So, all of this is absurd.

Very sorry for the ones trying to help around. There are limits to public discussions.
