Hi,
I've been getting a lot of long freezes in ManiaPlanet recently. When I boot my computer and start playing TrackMania, it plays just fine for a few minutes and then I start getting freezes. Usually, freezes happen when I finish a map online or when I press del online to restart at the beginning of the track. When the freezes happen, the screen is frozen but I can still hear the audio. When playing online and getting a freeze I end up with a red time and once I get one freeze, then it's freeze after freeze after freeze and I pretty much can't play. If I try to restart ManiaPlanet, then I get freezes instantly when ManiaPlanet appears after I click play in the launcher (white screen for a while until the freeze ends).
I tried removing and reinstalling ManiaPlanet. I tried deleting %USERPROFILE%\Documents\ManiaPlanet\Config. My drivers are updated. Other games work fine.
Please help me
Cheers,
Ragasto

Did you also clean the cache (using the launcher application)?

Hi TMarc,
I think I did. I went into Launcher -> Configure -> Advanced -> PeerToPeer -> Clean cache. I still get freezes.

Ok this is good.
Try to connect the game offline or silent - or go offline in the game.
Where did you get the game from?
Steam?
Which system specs do you have?

Re: Freezes
Wow ok, both playing the game offline and playing the game silent make the freezes stop (at least no freezes so far).
I downloaded the game from maniaplanet.com directly.
Main PC specs: i7-8700 CPU, RTX 2070 GPU, 512 GB SSD (tell me if you need to know more specs)

Re: Freezes
Your specs are largely sufficient for the game
Perhaps some configuration of the network is not 100% perfect.
But since the freezes stopped in offline mode,
it is clearly due to the chat function.
Everytime one of your contacts joins, the game checks for his avatar. And everytime your contacts start playing or change servers, this also leads to notifications.
A longer freeze could be caused by a sudden TCP timeout.
Only trying to explain, and there is currently not really a fix for that.

Got it!
I'll play online in silent mode for now, it's fine.
Thanks for the great and fast support! Much appreciated

Have you tried also going to another sever. I had this with a bad internet connection. Worked fine when on a quite server.
My issue was to much traffic. I also had to turn of seeing their cars. Now I am good.
The other issue was Bit defender not allowing connection.
