Go back to random skin each track?

When using the default car for a given environment, a random skin will be selected each time you either complete the track, or load any track. I enjoyed seeing the rotation of skins for default cars.
I decided to try downloading custom models, however when I return to the default car, there doesn't seem to be an obvious random skin option. If I want to use the default car, I seem to be stuck with the same skin unless I go in myself and choose a different skin.
Is there a way to reenable the random skin selection for the default car?
