Give us LP for the first race!
If I join a server I don't get any LP for the first track, it was like this in TMN too, I really don't like it and I think they should change this behaviour in TM2. I really can't think of a single good reason to keep this rule!
Re: Give us LP for the first race!
the reason why it's like this is because you have to be in the server at very start of the track for the points to properly count. At least it isn't like sunrise where you had to go into the pause menu to actually be in ladder mode

So it's just an old technical reason then!
Nadeo, fix the game so you don't have to be in the server at very start of the track for the points to properly count!

Yes, you make a point, but then how would you do things like laps, round, or cup?Snakejuice wrote:So it's just an old technical reason then!![]()

I think it's not a technical problem, but a feature. This way you can't just pop in server, get a quick time in one run, leave server, do the same thing on another server, over and over again and farm LP.

Well if you show up late you'll just have a harder time to win, still if you manage to get a decent placement why should you not get any points?Trackmaniack wrote:Yes, you make a point, but then how would you do things like laps, round, or cup?Snakejuice wrote:So it's just an old technical reason then!![]()

This I did NOT think of, guess you are right, would be a stupid idea to implement this for time trial servers.Fiouch_hr wrote:I think it's not a technical problem, but a feature. But they should still implement it for laps, rounds and cup as if you give the other players a head start and still manage to get decent placement ofcource you should get points, plus it'll be less annoying to join after just one round if the track is long or the points limit is high.

Re: Give us LP for the first race!
Yeah, but if you show up late and arrive last, you actually lose points. Well you don't lose them per se, but since you give points to everyone on the server (points they woudln't get if you never connected) you actually go down the ladder so it's as if you lost points.Snakejuice wrote:Well if you show up late you'll just have a harder time to win, still if you manage to get a decent placement why should you not get any points?
However, IMO the system could be improved by doing 2 things :
1- Allow you to play in "official" mode if you joined while there was still over 75% of the time remaining in Time Attack.
2- Display a small message to inform you when you're NOT in official mode, it would prevent people from wondering why they didn't get any points.

as far as I remember, that was last used in the old TMN ESWC, wonder why they chose to remove it in Forever and TM2.._Junky wrote: 2- Display a small message to inform you when you're NOT in official mode, it would prevent people from wondering why they didn't get any points.
Re: Give us LP for the first race!
Oh, I didn't know it used to be like that. You're right it doesn't make sense to remove it :-/

Re: Give us LP for the first race!
When I first joined TM I had no idea about 'official mode'. No idea what it was.
I discovered it later tho.
So placing text 'You are not in official mode' will cause more question marks.
Anyway, if you want such a text, you can display it with a server controller. It's not hard to figure out if you're in official more or not.
