Color problem with skin.

Hey guys I need a little help,

I never really made a skin or re-skin a car (first try) I found a nice one but because I wanted to put my name on it, I tryed to changed with GIMP but for some wierd reason the color is not "really" the same.

Can anyone tell what I need for example the compression format dtx5 I used now is that the correct one? And also of course how I keep the color.

this looks like you need to edit the alpha channel of the car on the right. A darker shade should fix your problem
