Hey people,
Sorry for another query that's nuts.
I can't seem to get the game working offline, so I guess is it mandatory that I should ALWAYS login to play the game? I can't be connected to the internet 24/7.
Cheers.

not sure.. maybe ubi added drm ? i thought the key unlocked content.. its strange y they have a "local play" option were to my thinking "local" means offline... maybe someone at ubi thought it would be funny to add "online 24/7 account needs to be loged in drm" to get a laugh? to me that makes sense..
Re: Mandatory Login?
I'm not prey to your "bright answer" but I've tried starting the game offline and it just starts blacked out after failing to connect to the server. Nothing happens. No local play, nothing. Just starts blacked out and the only thing that i could do is exit the game. Much like the beta. But I have my key and stuff. Dunno why this doesn't work.
P.S. sarcasm fail lol. :

I believe you need to have connected to the master server at least once (preferably with a working game that doesn't need to update or redownload data) before you can play locally.
(It's not like in the pre-paid beta where I had to log in successfully in order to be able to load Canyon (or even ManiaPlanet at first) every time I ran it.)
As of now, local mode *does* pose some restrictions (including not being able to play Solo mode, nor Multiplayer obviously), though it works to an extent - it's not a "stay connected 24h/24 7d/7" kind of DRM system...

Yeah I had the beta version before I bought the key/full game, so there was an update. 24/7 is a mere suspicion, wanted to know the reason why offline play is not working for me, so i'll re-check on that.Dimitri1993 wrote:I believe you need to have connected to the master server at least once (preferably with a working game that doesn't need to update or redownload data) before you can play locally.

Re: Mandatory Login?
So...what happens if you can't connect? I just did a test without auto-connecting and it wouldn't even let me into local mode at all. It just gave me a multitude of not working messages--all of which have probably been stated before. So what's with this constant-connected-ness?
I thought this kind of DRM wouldn't be implemented?

Re: Mandatory Login?
Kano, even when your posts make sense you're still full of it. You may be right but you sound like such an asshat that there's no way anyone's going to listen to you. Besides, Hylis has said time and time again that Ubi wouldn't be messing with their IP. There was even a thread in the early days of Maniaplanet where the man himself came on and essentially said that there would be no UbiDRM. Now--Hylis wouldn't -lie- to us, would he?kano69 wrote:Trackmaniack wrote:So...what happens if you can't connect? Re: Mandatory Login?
Ignoring the fact that Kano is for the most part a trollish character; the recent power failure/ server loss proved to all that we cant play the game we paid for without first logging in to Maniaplanet/ ( read Ubisoft ).
