Question: What's an easy way to...

Post by Trackmaniack »

create a bunch of circles or squares in GIMP or Photoshop? Sorry, there wasn't enough room in the question box for all that. :-? I'm looking to make LED-style lights in my car, but I want to know, first, if there's an easier way to draw a bunch of tiny square boxes than to, one by one, draw a bunch of tiny square boxes :P If there's an option or algorithm or something...if not, I'll just toil away, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is what you want ??? (also not tried it with Gimp or Photoshop, but I assume it similar).

What you can try is draw a filled rectangular with the fill property set to something like 'sphere'. (I use Paint.Net)

Thanks for the quick response :) Unfortunately, no, it's not what I'm looking for. :-? I'm looking for this effect here:

Without having to draw all the circles (or squares, in my case) by hand. Anybody know how to do this?

try with this brush http://www.premiumpixels.com/freebies/2 ... t-brushes/
Then, you just have to erase what you didn't expect ;)

its simple, if ure using photoshop(but probably works for gimp too) create a new square doc(like 50px*50px) than draw a rectangle or circle in the middle(make the circle or the rectangle smaller than the canvas), and define it as pattern. Than just do pattern overlay picking this last created pattern on the layer u want. Simple ad that

Thanks for everybody's help  With a combination of the comments in this thread, I think I've found a way to get it working. I'm going to start posting templates of my LED patterns (I'm doing all kinds of shapes and things) here in this thread. They're all 100x100 px, and so if you need quick and dirty LED templates for your illumination work, look here :)
