Is it possible that the server loses connection to the master server at the start of the map and therefore no ladder points allocated at podium?
on TMN/UF all players get a popup window at the start of each track to inform them that "this server is not registered on the master server" if it loses connection. Maybe this hasn't been added to TM2. I've yet to see it appear in Canyon, but i could be wrong.
Usually the next track/map the connection is re-established and ladder points are again given. on occasions this can persist for a few maps till the connection with the master server is reset.

try configuring the server account's validation code in dedicated_cfg.txt if you didnt do that already.
