Exactly, buy it from a local store or from amazone/ebay.
Ask your favourite game retailer to order it for you.
Install it on your PC, create an account and then install it on his PC with the account.

Ah .... I think I see where you are coming from now
Where I'm getting lost is, I have TMUF on my pc which I use, he has an account too but as he hasn't paid he must stay offline on Solo (I don't let him have my password). Now if he wants to play he has a choice of Race/Puzzle etc and pick a track colour and he must stay offline (Solo). There's no options to select for Snow/Desert etc. If I sign in online and then decide to play offline (Solo) I get the same options ... So where do we select Snow/Desert etc?

Re: Very sad to see this...
If you go in the solo mode and select a difficulty grade and then you have the tracks appear on the right side. Do you see the arrows on the upper and lower section of the track pictures? With them you should be able to select the different tracks for the difficulty grade and the environment.

TM2. and the whole Maniaplanet thing is a dead duck. Disappointing as I was getting fairly decent in TM2. Oh well, Ubisoft's involvement should have been enough for me to know to steer clear. I have a really bad connection and got TM2 because the first game runs fine with it. Really feel ripped off that TM2 has the 'dial up' speed option in the launcher but is not supported in the actual game - playing rounds is pointless as you will always miss the start of the first race because of waiting for the track to load. For this reason I am glad it is a big money loser for them - maybe eventually with enough loss of revenue game developers will develop some sense of what players want.

Forgot to say this: I think the reason for the poor sales is that a lot of people bought TMUF because it supported poor connections, for example people like myself who aren't that bothered with playing FPS games. I'd imagine that by not supporting poorer connections Nadeo have killed off the friends recommendation 'word of mouth factor' (and thereby many many potential customers) that made the previous games such a success.

How can you call TMU(F) a success, and not TM2,when TM2 atm has 3-4 times more sales then TMU?

Re: Very sad to see this...
There are 78k-ish players on TM2 atm. If that is 4 times better sales than TMUF that means TMUF made in or around 250k euros (lets say 220k pounds)!!! Why would they bother making a game at all???
Let's say TM2 has 80k players; allowing for some unfortunate players paying for a boxed or overpriced download the game still has revenue less than 2 million. The development, publicity, and distribution costs must come to more than that in itself. Surely with the low level of in-game advertising this is not feasible.
The sales figures themselves indicate a huge financial loser when you consider all the factors. Such a pity this thing can't survive - I'm still addicted, if a little pissed with some of the drawbacks to the second game.

Only 95 actual players online worldwide. Only 29 servers in use out of 600+ servers worldwide (servers are not players)
