What I need is a simple concrete start/finish block. Love it to make short and fast
circuits.

I think it would be cool if Nadeo made a 'Block Editor' for TM2 for users to create blocks with. Then, to keep people from making crap blocks, they could be uploaded to Nadeo for approval or validation before being officially added to the game.
That would be indeed a very nice solution. I would love to see a block competition, where players create blocks, which will later on (after a successfully validation by nadeo), integrated into the game by an update. Maybe each two months we get on this way 3 new blocks. Would be great for long term motivation of TM2, because now we have the problem that nearly each map builder came from an older TM and all kind of maps are already known (trial, RPG, nascar, tech, transitions) and therefore it's way harder to build something fresh in canyon atm.

What you can do at the moment is the following. Use a normal multi lap start and use a regular finish after the first round. If you then press respawn, you will respawn at the finish instead of the multi lap start. IF you then use mix mapping (TM2Unlimiter), you can make the finish respawnable and due to this you can create a multi lap circuit with a different start section for the first round.

Yes, I don't know why there isn't a Multi Lap (Start/Finish) block for every road type. 9 out of 10 tracks I make are multi lap but then I like tracks with about 4 to 6 minute gold times.
Regular updates would be nice too, but I'd really like to see a place like CarPark that has 'validated' blocks that you can choose from to download. That way your editor only gets as cluttered as you want it to. Of course that would mean that to play a track you would have to download the blocks used in it. Hmm... Not sure...

That's why i suggested a block certification by nadeo and an updating of the editor during official updates, so all players are up to date.
Maybe make a block competition on MX or another web site and send the winner blocks to nadeo ^^
Of course, when the block editor is available.

I'd like to see hundreds of GOOD new blocks with a good way to organize them.
I think the block editor they are working on now lets you import blocks that are made in an external 3D editor but I'd love it if NADEO made a completely self contained editor with several preset shapes that you could stretch, bend, blend and reshape. Then choose from textures and surface types like Blacktop, Tarmac, Dirt, Mud, Gravel, Ice, Snow etc... This way you can save just the construction data for blocks and minimize file sizes. Similar to how vector graphics save construction data rather than the entire object.

banjee wrote:somehow i just cant visualize Nadeo making free placement blocks. it would be like Nadeo adding block mixing to the editor. (i know it was there in the beta, but they did take it out...)
:o blockmix in beta ? OMG anyway i dont mean blockmix i mean free positioning block anyware any hight

the blocks are to big and the car to fast....

anyway a block editor is same as a track editor the only diffrent is smaller blocks its so simple to do.

and there can be alot of pieces in a block editor /and i tought that was coming after the release when i bought the beta game, but it show later that it wasnt someting that i tought and many others to,, it says "creating custom blocks" at the trackmania site but it was very bad explained" it was something to put the existing pieces together and save as macro blocks lol, but they didnt say that, they just told us that we can create custom blocks , but that was just a bad way to put it (i looked now but that is gone from the buy page so that was a BIG disipointment for me) and those can be in the game so you dont need to dl the blocks its just like a small track (1 block)

but maybe a track will be to big in size then. (10mb)

And this isnt right either "the bold text", Create your own tracks, cars, and scripts with more design elements than ever before design element ? what is that. for me it is the blocks...
naa... tm1 = 200 - 280 blocks or something and tm2 is just like 100 - 150 and to little scenery to put in the tracks
and tm1 is much more variated, 1 piece = many variation and in tm2 its only work for 2 variatins or so i think you get my point.
but with a block editor the tm will be much better than old tm

custom blocks for me is, like the simcity3000 block editor (not a puzzle), and remember if you guys nadeo make a block editor, it wont overflow with bad pieces becouse to build a block is not that easy its very time consuming and 1 piece take about 10 minutes or something, and there is a few in a track, if not alot, so not everyone will use it, only those that are very creative, is my guess,

false advertising in some point.

I didnt have a picture of the old advertising you used at beta.... anyone have a screen when the canyon counter was there and counting down to release ?

still love the game even with a few flaws in it, and its only 20 euro anyway...
i hope there are no flaws in valley but i guess there are some anyway :(

In response to luftisbollentm2:
I believe the original concept was to incorporate a custom block import feature that would allow users to create blocks in an external 3D editor (like 3Dmax or something) import the 3D block into the game, assigning textures and surface types to it, and save it to a "Custom Blocks" folder.
As far as I know they are still working out the bugs for that and intend to implement it into the game when they are sure it is stable. This would give the game a huge creative environment.

I don't think positioning blocks anywhere would work well because nothing would really line up right.

db89: - Yes, The engine cut off block would be fun to see again.
