Ahh well, TM always being simple is a good point...
But anyways I'd like to get a reply from someone who actually knows if it will feature or not.

why does it matter for you now? ^^ wait for release, or beta, if you registered.

And why not? It's a simple question that is important to me as I explained in the first post.
And obviously the time for suggestions like this is BEFORE a beta. In a beta things are tweaked and bugs are fixed... Usually nothing new is added and nothing drastic is changed.
If Nadeo want to make this the next generation Quake, a console is needed!

This is wrong, sorry. NOT ANY pro complained about the console not being here when they started playing the game.
And the answer is pretty obvious, if they want SM to be TM as a shooter, there won't be a console.

I think beta has started already ^^ there was a topic in the morning, where one person asked why all the servers are empty, I asked if he already has the beta, and after an hour or less thread got deleted ^^

Please stop speaking in place of Nadeo.

I'm not speaking in place of Nadeo. You can just ask yourself why would there be a console. There is not any reason for that, especially given what Nadeo want for their game.

It's not the beta, but only the begin of the alpha with limited number of person and a private forum.

I'm sure console isn't a bad thing. Nadeo can easily add a console with few commands and later they can expand the list of the commands. It's much easier to add it right now than later. Just some options, like graphic tunings. For example in TF2 with an ancient PC you can get around 30 fps with low settings, but with highfps config it's able the reach a stable 50. That's just my point.

Leavzou, it's not good to state your opinion as fact

. We all have strong opinions here and reasons for thinking the things we do, so let's not just say "Everything you say is wrong" to each other and listen a little to everyone's points instead

.
To Zell: I have the feeling that NADEO is planning to more copy the interface of TrackMania 2, as opposed to copying the interface of the common shooter. While this game IS a FPS game, they are also trying to distance themselves from the typical FPS game and create something new. While I don't think they will add an actual console into the game, they may be adding these features into the games GUI, because I think many of these things you mentioned can be helpful for people with different mouse types and different types of screens (You wouldn't want to play with a fov of 160 on a tiny monitor

).
In most cases, I don't think these options are actually "virtually increasing your skill" or anything, it's just cosmetic changes that help the user feel comfortable while interacting with the software. Just as in TrackMania, you can drive a car you're more comfortable with so you can get a better feel for how to make slide through those difficult corners and such. Plus you can also change the sensitivity if you're using a USB device to adapt to how your controler/pad/wheel's input works. None of this makes you drive/run faster, turn faster, jump higher, or anything like that, so I don't see the problem here. Even FOV, while this gives you a better peripheral vision, players may not like that strange fish-eye effect you get from it, and they may opt out of using it, as these are not features that are only restricted to "pro's", they can be used by anyone.
At least that's how I think of it.
