let's say it's below 90. you won't buy the game now, or what?

I'll wait to see if there's any way to fix that in the ini/cfg first, for sure. (and if there isn't one... welp.)

Not supporting something basic like that is a sign of failure in other parts of the game, if they can't get the FoV right how are they going to get the movement/shooting/other options right?

Even console ports like Battlefield support this, it's a core feature of any FPS on the PC.

core feature of FPS is gameplay... and core feature of SM is easy accessibility and same conditions for everybody. one weapon, one playerskin, one fov... it's not that nadeo is unable to make this configurable, it's just that nadeo doesn't want to add that, it's out of their principles for making this game. and surely, it's not a sign of failure in other parts of SM.

I don't want them to bother me.
I just want to know the FoV, so I can sync my other FPS games to match the FoV in SM.

Since I can't change it in SM, I can still change it to match the other games I play to the FoV in SM.

So, you see, its still important that I know the FoV in SM, even though I cannot change it.

I'd say it's more than 90, based on some quick testing. Also, there's a quite noticeable fish-eye effect, which occours only when FOV >90°.

Turn one way and remember the right half of the screen. Then turn 90° right and look at the left half of the screen. If you see some parts of the map which you saw before turning, then FOV is >90°. If you see none of the "old" parts of the map after you turn, then FOV is <=90°. This method of rough estimation of FOV will work in any game. Using this method, you can even find out the actual FOV value, but it's a bit tricky to do.

So far from what I've noticed in game, the FoV actually changes based on what speed the player is moving at. Based on experience though, I'd say my FoV is within 78-83. I don't see any distortion or stretching on the sides of my screen that I usually notice while playing at 85 FoV in other games (besides when I'm being launched off a ramp, or if I use my stamina to gain speed)

uses this method in the game editor.

or, simply compare the difference( fov vision) in the editor / with the game.
you will find the fov correct.
