I know he has it, so I generally meant there's not really a reason to buy Canyon, except you love that particular environment pretty much. there is similar amount of people on SEVEN environments in TMUF.

and there are many more tracks on TMNFX+TMUFX than on MX.

20000 tracks on MX (TM2 Canyon)
Roughly half a million tracks on TMX (TMO, TMS, TMU, TMN, TMNF)

I find it hard to even drive the 20000. When you get to that many tracks it doesn't seem to matter if it's 20000 or half a million.

But this is where the argument comes in about variety. The more tracks there are, the more statistical probability for a greater variety and also a higher probability of high quality tracks. I'll grant you that.

I keep coming back to TM2 to check to see if it's improved ... I keep going back to TMUF because of the same reasons. No real variety of track and too few players ... seldom over 100 when I go on :( Got more members in our TMUF team than that

I've actually found a good variety of good tracks... by some (former?) Canyon detractors no less. The problem is they don't get played on servers -- I have to play them against my brother on LAN.

I think TM2 is about to die a horrible death.

It had the potential to be great. It is a HUGE flop.
They just totally got it wrong.

Stay with TMNF, or go to another game like Dirt3, or League of Legends.

Sorry, but I completely disagree.
TM2 is a major upgrade from it's predecessors, it's just still new and a work in progress.
Dirt3, I think is an awesome game but doesn't compare with TM2. TM2 is very customizable. Dirt3 is not.
The track editor and Media tracker alone set TM2 WAY apart from other titles.
& League of Legends? Not even sure why you're comparing that to TM2.

TM2 is not "about to die a horrible death", it is still being born.

A game can't be "born" (I mean gaining popularity) one year or later after release. The only people who really care about TM² and its future titles have already bought the game. You really think that valley/3rd title will have more sold copies than canyon? I doubt it. About SM - well, people who play TM now might buy SM. New people, who are going to buy SM, imho are only interested in FPS itself, not in TM or anything else.

Yea, actually I do. Once people see the updates to Canyon and Maniaplanet and Valley comes out I think people who like racing games will find it very well worth buying. I believe the Maniplanet series will grow exponentially rather than gradually as people find out what the potential there really is.

gonna repeat again: nobody cares about that, except a part of current TM community.

And he's going to disagree with you again, and neither of you will ever succeed in convincing the other that they're right.
