Information regarding the Beta!

Something isn't quite clear.. We can only play for 7 days? Is that 7 days of playing time (168 hours) or 7 days to play after a key is activated ?

In the past Nadeo has offered 3-day passes/keys for TrackMania 2 Canyon (and actually they still do). Those keys lasted for 3 days from the time they were activated (first used). It didn't matter if you played it 15 minutes or 72 hours. The key expires 3 days after activation. I would assume it's the same for this.

Actually they will use your email address that you've entered in your ManiaPlanet_Alpha profile in-game to send you your 7-day pass (if you were in the Alpha). Read what the blog said....

To begin the Beta, all of the Alpha players will receive a 7-day Beta key. So it’s very important that all Alpha players have indicated a valid email in their ingame profile.

Technically it says that every alpha player needs the bèta key to make it possible to start with the bèta (in it's "whole" (?)).
Which would be not true of course. It's a bit of a problem with this "frenglish" kind of speech (I'm sorry Cero...).
It would be nice to know more about what's going to happen after those 7 days.
I'd have to problem with buying the game to keep playing in the bèta, but I'd like to know that before those 7 days are over ...

Only thing I can say is that Cerovan confirmed to me (dunno if it's gonna change ...) that the 7 days start at the time of activation and it will just last 7 days (doesn't matter how much you play).

I think we're agreeing on everything chris except I don't think Alpha players have to register on shootmania.com for a key.

The blog seems very clear to me that those with Alpha will automatically get a new key (a 7-day one) for beta when the beta starts.

But yeah, I'm also concerned about what happens after those 7 days are over. I'm sure more will be revealed in due time.

Until then, tell all your friends! Make sure they get registered on shootmania.com before the deadline for the closed beta!

P.S. The blog post doesn't even read like Frenglish to me. Maybe I've been reading these forums too long.

Do you remember what happened with Canyon?
The beta was made available as pre-sale for those who wanted to pay and try it before the actual release.
Perhaps this will happen again here

But that’s not all, a new mode will also appear in the Beta : “Siege”, a 5 vs 5 competitive mode.

Oh it seems I misunderstood the blog post.
I thought the keys gained from www.shootmania.com will last longer than 7 days.
Okay, that makes sense now

But I wonder how they will have enough testers throughout the closed beta stage, or if it will be like for TM²C that you have to purchase the game to continue in beta.

Eyebo has right on some points, the keys are valid 7 days from the day they are activated and of course the beta will last more than 7 days. Anyway more announces will arrive soon
