Here's my two cents: I think that it could be like NFS (I cringe at mentioning this game in the same sentence as TM), that the damage will not be so damaging to the car that it will completely deform it. It'll be cosmetic...like much else.

It would be best if there would be option if the game should show car damage or not.
Considering this new platform maps we're discussing, there could be a percentage limit about how much you are allowed to damage your car until you finish.
Winning doesn't matter. It's important to participate

This will kill PF/Stunt maps if it's on by default in all maps.

There is only visual damage.
