Okay, I will explain it to you. I pre-ordered this game, because of Elite mode. And now Nadeo announced, that Elite mode will be for free... so actually, I've wasted 16€. You understand, why I am upset?

if you didn't preordered it, you actually don't play at all ?
what the problem in spending 16€ for a game ? Elite will still be a little part of the full game, and free to play part will surely be limited.
don't you thing nadeo deserve a little more respect ?

Elite, Joust, Heroes (& Platform@Canyon) are Free to play ... but
basic game not ! which is required !

They could've announced it a bit earlier...maybe before so many comptetetive players bought it...
Respect to Nadeo? Well, Nadeo was really good in the past! But, sorry to say, I can`t spend money to all f2p games. It`s like you buy a game and some days later the publisher tells you, that the game will be f2p ...

That`s right, but when I bought ShootMania I paid also for Elite, Joust and Heroes. So I paid for basic gaming AND the game modes.

so say to yourself that you bought joust and heroes, + supported the devs. I regret buying canyon too, but I don't whine about it...
p.s. also, you got 6-9 months more to play. not worth it you say?

Keep in mind that the game at release, that you pre-orderded should have a good value. I don't think the F2P 'classic' definition applies it. If you want to use industry terms, I would say it is a free standalone dlc ^_^
I will copy/paste two of my answers here, so you my understand why we made this and why we think it is better. I hope you can judge at release.
We are doing this to improve the experience of buyers as well. By doing this, we do our best to bring you the best competitive scene in addition to a much bigger game. By the way, when 75% reduction on games is applaude, even if some bought it full price the day before.
And do not buy games in beta if you are unsure of the final product. This product is going to evolve, with additionnal features and content. Being part of the beta means that you are more or less looking at being part of this evolution. Otherwise, I would advise to really be there at release instead of now.
We did it in 2006 with the eSports World Cup. In the same spirit, we are releasing a part that will give access to fast development in many countries and especially the ones like Brazil. It will even be better for owner of the game who shall experience a wider range of competitions thanks to the audience.
Also, I believe that the additionnal services and the diversity of evolutions and experience that are going to happen on the full game will be much bigger than the part we decided to give access to everyone. Until then, the 3 to 6 months period will also see various features and evolutions that are probably interesting to test before.

You clearly had a liking to the game, so decided to pre order it. Arn't you glad you got to play it months and months before it came out?
But to get a new fan base, sometimes they have to do things like "Make certain gametypes available for free at launch"
it gives everyone a chance to try it , before actually purchasing it. I can't see it becoming f2p forever...
