Our ben, (dr-ukr|darkness, dr-ukr|ben, flying anus) is almost finished on a manialink project which is skinnable and can have styles imported easy ... a template for personal maniapage ... with a html backend that you can upload avatars and bits with ... also a tmx plugin in it so you can go to the admin thing on the manialink and input tmx ID to add to the page of tracks .. and also delete buttons on each tile if logged in as admin ..
is looking quite promising as a "stop gap" untill better things are available.
..As long as the newer quad style system is in the newer game then his work will not be in vein

Trackmaniack wrote:Make a GUI for a manialink editor? Hmm...didn't know that was a community-based project. Thought it had to be more deeply rooted in the game code than that.
Even classic TMU already had a
ManiaLinks Editor, written in Java.
And ISTR that was not the only such project. Don't think there's one for the new ML features in TMF though.

Yeah there is definately not one that supports the "quad style" yet ... if there is its very well hidden
Would be nice to have an intuative point and click based editor though i admit, i dont see the community doing something that complicated, not a case of capabitlity of course, more of time and effort taken.
Unless someone makes one to sell, that might be an insentive, but i'm sure that would be a copyright issue right ?
Let's hope that maybe they consider this at a later date, a proffesionaly made manialink/code/script editor would be a very good tool, and also it would be 3 times as usefull soon given the fact it will now cover 3 games ^^

Also manialib is getting on the way better and better.
Even getting a MVC application.

Nice w1lla! Didn't know about fmlc!
Nice work even though it's not that "graphic interface editor" like old tools (without forever tags)
+1 about manialib! You can make perfect manialink "applications" with it!

Okay...I DLed the original ManiaLinks editor...the one without the Forever support (I didn't download the Forever one cuz I can't understand German for crap...

) But anyway, I can't get anything to work like it's supposed to in the MLE...I can adjust background, color, and -maybe- size...and insert -normal- text...but that's it. If I want to put in image files, links, what have you...nothin. Any help here guys? Maybe even just direction on a tutorial for creating a manialink...

Had you seen the mania-creative's (tm-creative's) tutorials?
here
I think you should just make tests using notepad or another editor (so you can use forever tags- it's much more easy with them). Of course, you can find some more information on
tm-forum
