This should be fixed of course. But my suggestion is that TM2 should not care about extension, but about filetype when using image/sound/etc.
BTW. I am wonder what happens if I put something like this in AddURL field:
http://www.mytmsite.com/file.bik?fakevariable=file.bik
TM should change only last fake extension maybe? :)
A small workaround.
PS. I check this and it's even worse! TM changes fake extension as I think but there is not URL in file at all! Even if I used "Add URL" function! It will be easier for everyone if TM stops looking at extensions (then maybe stops change them). And I am really hope that TM programmers do not forgot to write locators in file every time if they're used!
Wow! BIK animations works! Is this for real?

Strange. My .bik file not animated, but from TMU animated...Patriot1 wrote:It's not real
Ok you can use .bik but they are not animated because they are saved as .dds in the map.gbx.

Re: Wow! BIK animations works! Is this for real?
You are right Patriot, that was the first thing I discovered.. TM converts it back to .dds . You can make locators until you are blue in face, it won't work ... yetPatriot1 wrote:It's not real

But why then .bik of TMU in TM2 works? Or I do not understand something?

Re: Wow! BIK animations works! Is this for real?
It does work when you are building a track. But once you save the track, the animation is gone. Upon investigation I checked the gbx file and noticed the files were converted back to dds.. well so it seems. Loading the same track again after I saved it, the animated images are not there anymore...Harrison_rus wrote:But why then .bik of TMU in TM2 works? Or I do not understand something?
Avatars seem to work, albeit no-one else can see custom cars or avatars at the moment.

You're right, there was a bug when the maps were saved.
It will be fixed in next update.
Thank you for your feedback

Of course the signs that are being loaded from a map come into your gamecache. Where else would they go? Everything that gets downloaded ingame is stored into the cache.rat_in_car wrote:Gamecache is mostly using for download/upload players resources (cars, avatars) not signs placed in map. And I'm talking about signs.

Bik animations used in avatars actually does work.
Bik animations used in tracks unfortunately do not work and i hope that will be indeed fixed in the next update.
Thx Angry Duck for your update as well

Well, next update... As I suppose, there is always "next" update? :) Like "tomorrow"? :Pangry_duck wrote:You're right, there was a bug when the maps were saved.
