This shows how much people want different things. I play and love TM since 2008 and wouldn`t even want to try such a game.
You could take this kind of mod (http://www.maniapark.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21896), a glowing neon skin (which you can make in TM) and a well made FS map and you are in that direction (without all the gimmicks ofc.). Also the driving physics seem to be quite flat. But yeah, everyone has a different taste.
The free track transformation looks quite nice though.
Btw., are you sure this is not Nadeo?

Game is on pre-alpha stage so maybe it will change I would try Distance because of Split-screen mode.
