jonthekiller wrote:The "casual vote" is the easy and bad explanation about this mappack. This mappack is the result of the quality of maps we have received and motivated people to work on it.

This mappack is bad but because it's bad, the next will be great. We receive more good maps, several teams are motivated to help for the pre-selection and it will be not like this if this mappack was excellent.

Casual players can vote because it's one of method to give the passion of competitions to everyone. It's a very important point and don't forget this. If the quality of the maps grow, casual players will vote for better maps too. You have 9 maps, you can always ban the worst map.

Our system will evolve, and for us, it will be the best system in long term. It can be difficult at the beginning but the most important thing is to think about the long term.
why cant my team help select the maps? we play everyday since june 2012.

Tournaments will not use always Nadeo maps. They can't make new maps all the time only for Elite, they make maps for other gamemode and environments. The community needs to learn how make maps but it takes time and it's normal. The quality will improve with time, feedbacks on how improve their maps, tests...

We accept new testers all the time to give feedbacks if you want.

Now that the new mappack is coming up & scheduled, can this thread please be
1. Deleted
2. Edited a lot so people know there will be a new mappack.

Or we can simply create a new thread?
Anyways people need to know about the upcoming mappack and help us test. Its not easy to do alone.

It would be cool to have a lobby for testing the new maps

Wow magnetik , you genius.
It would be cool if we could get some support from someone ( nadeo preferably ) to setup a server with new elite maps and that "thumbs up/thumbs down" plugin.

Any help is always welcome! Im testing maps now.

ps : i really think a new thread would be better. Or at least update the title. Who would ever care to read a thread dated "3june"?

I updated the topic.

I will see, it require a little organization, we have at this moment 54 maps and I don't want to update on each client server the maplist (need to be able to update the maplist of all client simultaneously with the Dedicated Manager (hehe new feature to add :D))
After, with a lot of maps, it's difficult to test all maps with a lobby, it requires maybe several lobbys with 10 maps each for example or a choice of mappool when we launch a match on the lobby.

I'm able to run one lobby, but I don't think be able to launch more on my server.

Humm yep 54 maps is quite a lot
Maybe for later stages.

For the lobby, I suggest not to use the dedicated manager but a few CLI scripts that starts all server at once (so the matchsettings is shared between all servers).
