what's bothering me is the fall-off rate of the bounce light.
Look at this pic: http://www.vinummusik.de/Trackmania2/Fo ... tgrass.jpg
If the stadium car were let's say 1 meter high then the most upper block in that pic would be at an altitude of about 120m. And the strength of the bounce light at that altitude is almost as strong as the bounce light at ground level....that's just not how physics works!

unless the bottom of those blocks is reflecting light a lot, nearly like mirrors.
It looks like they forgot to add the effect of athmospheric attenuation here, or the air of the Stadium is 100% pure ;)

Idd.. It is very realistic but maybe exagerated at some levels ;) Anyway... I don't see a problem on having green blocks :roflol:

Looking at your picture, I must agree. It seems not very realistic :?

Please stop complaining ;)
You can use block 7-8-1 below the block 5-2-1 and then there will be no green, only a bit blue

HawkGer, you forget that the only area the light can reflect from is the ground. And the Green area is so big that only the green light is reflected. So it's not unrealistic at all.
How else should the light get on the lower side of these platform blocks?

yeah those blocks on the lower level probably receive not as much bounce light as those on the upper levels so the effect of the fall-off rate is diminished. Sorry for my poor physics skills and that useless post

Ranzou wrote:Trackmania and realistic  It's ok if they emit some light, but that green is way overpowered, it distracts from the race. TMNF didn't have this reflection from the air cushions which was better imo, but like i said its ok if they emit a bit of light just not this much. On certain track pieces like walls etc it doesnt distract, but on the trackpieces itself it is just horrible.
Indeed, the light bounce is usually increased by a scale factor (to enhance the visual effect), in many mood cases the scale factor is 2.0 or bigger, maybe it's too high.
Could you tell in what mood have been taken the screen shot, please ?
Thanks
