Are you working on fixing disappearing rockets? Why is this happening?
We are not working on it, and it is not normal. Either they should continu, either they should hit. No reason to just disappear. One could be that the rule script does not handle well the elimination message. I know it is there since some times, but priorities are priorities, we can not duplicate ourselves. I will keep you informed in the changelog when it is isolated.
From looking into disappearing rockets, they seem to all be rockets that are actually misses. If you get a disappearing rocket and save a replay, in the replay you'll see the rocket actually miss and fly past (and not in fact hit and disappear).

So I would assume this is some discrepancy between what the client sees and what actually goes on on the server. So what for half a year has been a pain in the ass to play with has gotten less painful when you look at them as just misses. Would still like to see an optimization of netcode so this doesn't happen (happens sometimes even with stable 40 ping/60snap)

SadZealot says it all basically about fluffyrockets. It is a problem since 1 fluffy rocket hit is 33% of an actual win in a game on Elite. Where the syncerror is doesn't matter. For the player it is still cheesy as hell and one of those things that get stuck and make them discard the game as bad netcode or buggy.
Same goes for shot through fence. Cheesy kills has no place in a serious esport title.

Please do not make a mistake and force penetrating laser in Elite. The nature of the intense action next to pole makes it so that there will be many really lame victories if you get penetrating laser. For the pole area gameplay it is a gamechanger and not for the good. It will just add to the feel of cheesyness and frustration.
Many times on open maps I've used teammates as cover or partial cover. That's all you have to cover yourself within 2 meters or so.

The FOV is imo a weird answer. Within any esport title it is a huge thing for players to discuss, test and know what good players are using for settings. To just discard and oversimplify it with an argument like that is just weird.
To just toss in a flag for spectators to follow players fov or not(use their own) would make the game more appealing for larger part of fps gamers out there on PC. Instead you alienate the players that want a certain feel to their game. Sure they might be a minority but then you could also take away the option to invert pitch on mouse.
If "..for spectator.." is the only reason it would be a bad one. I suspect it's a more timepreserving motivated choice. Changing the fov now might make your fovaltering stuff when sprinting break and in need of a whole overhaul.
I am one of those that easily would push fov 10~15 degrees higher. After all, it is like playing with blinders when you are used to ~100fov. To "get used to it" really doesn't come into it after you played games with higher fov for more then 10 years.

I answered it for the youtube video. I don't think it is clear the way I did it, but I still prefer to let the answer be published as intented.
Link? Why even have that Q in the post without actually linking to the answer.

pass-through lasers? Finally you listened to me :D As many people agree it will add something great in game like in every fps. Won't happen too often but still cool.

Another question, are you going to fix spectating as defender when you die? We can only spectate 1 player.

Maybe it will be cool , maybe its overpowered at the pole!

To test it is one thing. But from Nadeos trackrecord they might just force it and that would be bad.

if you don't force it, it is not tested. It is to not remove it, that would be named "forced" And in that respect, I don't see why you are talking of our track record. We often adapt to the resulting tests. We have tried to make an experimental title to test things btw, and it just does not worked ;)

@Hyllis

Seeing how you interpret what he says and your reply shows there's a huge language barrier between us :( It reminds me of a quote:

Mathematicians are like Frenchmen: whatever you say to them they translate into their own language and forthwith it is something entirely different.

What I meant is that I hope nadeo doesn't force a penetrating laser. As in push a penetrating laser but not make it optional. As in every laser would be penetrating in Elite.
And as Hylis seem to reason they have to force a non-optional p-laser just to test it. Which is exactly the reasoning I am afraid they will have.

Additionally. To have it optional makes it very likely you can get a ggod amount of feedback still. To make it a completly seprate title with a bunch of other changes make it less likely.
Just stick a flag in the gamemode and let people vote the setting and see what is getting used.

It depends on the type of features, progressive jump and denial of rockets would have been harder to test with option. The penetrating laser would be easier to have feedback without forcing it because it affects less the basic gameplay and the trainings, but then, it is less a trouble to set it to 'true' by default. Again, the goal is to make the best game as possible, as fast as possible. Until then, we should not doom ourselves into a static situation, but try to react as fast as possible on our side as well. It is harder depending the moment of the studio and the priorities, but this type of things can be done quickly.

haha for the quote sadzealot ^_^ :roflol:
