That 3D model only works in first generation Trackmania games.
TrackMania² needs updated 3D models, which need to be converted to a Trackmania² Skin with the NadeoImporter tool.
Please get a new 3D Model from http://maniapark.com

Both \Skins\Models\CarCommon and \Skins\Vehicles\CarCommon work fine.
