That disappearing chat thing was changed to 1 minute. I think they'll maybe let server owners set this parameter themselves later.

I am wondering why even made such a change, not requested and necessary at all. And yes i hope they will let us change this back to "normal" quite fast and soon as for me, i do not want any chat to dissapear at all.

Only 50% correct. As the undef (thread opener) also mentioned this (as quoted), it is also part of this thread and should be discussed. That he mentioned it is by the way the reason why i have found this thread by the search option of the board. So i thought it is better to discuss it here then to open the 40th thread about this.

I see. And yeah, that issue was also discussed here a lot. So it's fine. I just want to make sure the real "bug" is looked at (as the topic title identifies it) and not only this design choice that they've made, which is surely something that should also be looked at. I too was really annoyed by the 1 or 2 sec disappearing chat. It's not so bad now because they changed it to 1 minute. I think I could live with it, but I wouldn't mind having the old system back either. I had to open full chat far less often with the old system.

By the way, I merged my topic with this one, and I was only talking about the "C" old chat bug. So in a sense there are two thread openers here.
