Damn, TMNF's reputation in TMUX isn't for nothing. :3

You say we have to respect each other, but before you told that saying TMNF is a demo is ignoratn and stupid. Respect us before, show the example.

Is TMNF a demo?

hah, yeah coz i started it... if anything i've been the one who's always said we should respect each other. and by statistics, United are usually the ones who bash Nations, by coming with remarks such as "TMNF is just a demo" etc, and not the other way around. i wonder why?

Few explanations of the word demo(nstration):

To advertisers and the "wth only 1 environment" people, TMNF is a demonstration of how popular a game with 1 environment can be.
To gamers in general: What can i expect from a trackmania game, they advertise about building tracks, but how does that work.

Technology demo, a prototype version of a technology product
As a prototype comes 1st, followed by the main product, you can also say tmuf is the demo, but you paid money for it.

Anyways, can we please drop this nonsense? This is a "Centralised News" topic, it's the 1st post most of us read when we have our 1st cup of coffee.

..... not much to add here.
And that is why i split the topic, to allow everyone to get it over with, and finish this discussion.
Keep in mind that everyone is allowed to have his own opinion and the right to defend that with arguments, as long as he accepts that other people have their own opinion too.

Edit, this is what the official statement for TMNF is.
http://trackmaniaforever.com/ wrote:What is the difference between the free game and the full game?

TrackMania Nations Forever is the free version of the game, where you can play on the Stadium environment. Some features are disabled and can be activated by upgrading to Trackmania United Forever. If you like Nations, you will love United, with 6 more original racing environments, more tracks, a huge solo campaign and more features to discover.

So they call it a free game but explain it as a demo in my eyes, but the word "upgrading" makes United more of an expansion pack for Nations.

You can see it in two ways. TMNF can be a demo, then TMUF is the full version. TMNF can also be a full version though, then TMUF is an expanded full version / a special edition of TMNF. To me it doesn't matter which one it is now, TMNF is a game and so is TMUF, and the only thing that matters is that the games are fun. And they are fun. ;)
