which shader settings do you have actually?

My shader settings are set to 'nice'
Setting them to very nice or lower didn't help

Meanwhile, I tested the issue in Stadium and Canyon, too. Same behaviour. After the first solo track, the menu background is black. When I play some more solo tracks the background is sometimes black, sometimes normal. I couldn't find a rule, for the second and further returns to the track selection menu the appearance of the background seems to be random.

One thing you could try: run the debug version (details below) and as soon as you have the effect, close ManiaPlanet, and file in the actual ManiaPlanetLog file.

Attention: the file name of the debug version exe was changed to ManiaPlanet.exe
Do a backup of the original exe before extracting the debug version.

Even more strange is that somehow this 'bug' has fixed itself
Hidden update somewhere ? Could a Microsoft Update be responsible for something like this ? ( I updated my gfx driver through win update for once )
