In spitfire u dont move 45seconds. Thats the problem.
How can you possible enjoy the game like this?

Ur reading the rules over & over again in the spawn?
Just admit that its not designed with defending in mind.

Well it's not like standing still untill 5 seconds before pole opening is your only job in the spawn ... also many positions are like this, it's more a problem of the game than the spawn.

I agree with you. The way/style u defend in the spawn is the same like defending behind a pillar. You are right.
But taking away a spawn will force a defender to play somewhere else and maybe it will lead to a new tactic or even a more agressive tactic.

I really believe NADEO should brainstorm about this too with us! Its a very important thread imo.
Focus on playerbase for extra players & then making Elite even better. TOP2 right here.

IDEA : 1 spawn per defender

The mapper does not only make the map. He also selects 3 spawn-points/checkpoints.
1 defender spawns on 1 spawnpoint.
( The difference is that not all 3 defenders spawn in the same spawn. )

How it works:
- Before the round starts each defender has to choose where he will spawn ( = part of the tactic )
--> Who is better at the pole?
--> Who is a better agressive defender?

Example :
- 1 defender spawns near to the pole ( he will probably be the last man standing )
- 1 defender spawns somewhere left on the map on a high position ( covering left )
- 1 defender spawns a little closer to the attacker on the right ( = a little more risky / agressive & he covers the right side of the map. He will probably die first or do the most damage. )


Other possibilities :
- The defender does not know at which of the 3 points he will spawn exactly. It is randomized.
- The mapper can add more than 3 spawnpoints. All 3 defenders wont know where they will spawn.
( I already hear someone saying : "THIS IS LUCK & RANDOM" , but remember its the mapper his job to place the spawnpoints at the right places )


Why?
- No spawncamping
- Not all 3 defenders are around the pole
- Possiblilty for bigger maps ( i dont think this is necessary tho )
- Defenders are forced to play differently. Defenders that spawned far away from the pole need to find a way to rotate back = dynamic play.
- Who knows what kind of tactics/creativity will come out of this??

PS : This does not change Elite a lot. Defenders could easily fall back to their regular positions.

I really like your ideas novationx, very impressive.

Your main idea is that it will make the game more dynamic. But I don't know if it will be as effective as you think. The placement of the spawns doesn't really matter because the attacker needs to reach at first the area where the defenders are and that takes time. Meanwhile, the defenders of every spawn can run to any hide-spot as he wants.
Hard to explain but here is a little example:
Let's imagine the attacker needs 5seconds to reach the ''battle area'' where the fight begins (When the attacker starts his round, there is mostly an area from where he can't see the defenders or the distance to the defenders are at least ~100meters). From any spawn, the defenders need 4 seconds to run to a hide-spot in the battle-area. Then it doesn't matter where the defenderspawn is.

Hopefully you get my message :D
