Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
There is no key. Steam did not give me a key when I got the game. I wish I had noticed this was Ubisoft crap to begin with, all of their games have issues. :/ 3rd party DRM. God this stuff never ends.
Also ping and trace here;
Also my first post already shows a trace route and I just now noticed, I can't load the web pages either.

Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
Why would my graphics card have anything to do with a connection issue?
i7 3.1GHz 2nd gen | nVidia GeForce GTX 560m 2GB VRAM
Could it be a port blocking issue?

Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
Your system specs are more than sufficient to run the game.
Mp05 is only a account server but not a web server.
If you can't even ping it properly, but e.g. mp02 or mp06 are responding, then it is ugly ISP issue.
Nadeo could check with help of your tracert log.

Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
Is there a certain port required to be open in order to access the login then? Why is it I can log in on any other games but this one requires some special stuff that my ISP would block? This happened with Assassin's Creed as well, another Ubisoft game. I'm not allowed to activate my game because Ubisoft servers are blocked, some sort of port blocking going on because I go through multiple routers to get my internet. It'd cost me $50 a month in order to get through the port blocking.
Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
you can't just blame the game, if it is not one of the ISP, it is your system whioch is blocking it.
Certainly there can be some errors, but except the bad video driver issue with Intel HD and Windows 8.x, currently there is no issue that has a similar impact on masses of players.
Basically no unusual port needs to be opened. ManiaPlanet makes the initial connection to the master servers on port 80 and 443.
Only if you want to share your skins, horns and avatars from your system, you need to open the so called P2P ports so others can get the information where to download them from your PC.
And also if you want to use your PC as server, you need to open a few ports.
The ports you need to open in the firewall are 2350 and 3450 for both UDP and TCP (fallback for failing UDP).
More is described on the Wiki http://wiki.maniaplanet.com/en/Home in the support and faq sections.
Please reboot your computer, and then don't start anything else than ManiaPlanet, also before doing that, check if no internet active application is running, like Mumble, Skype, any kind of P2P downloads etc.
On a properly configured system, the firewall will ask you if it shall let pass ManiaPlanet.
Perhaps you have overseen this message in the background, or you never startet it with Admin rights, and due to perhaps to restrictive UAC, you did'nt even get any notice of anything.
And some antiviruses are known to hinder ManiaPlanet much more than it is good.
Finally check again if IE is not offline for some reason.

Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
ManiaPlanet asked to be allowed to connect the first day I ever ran it. It has been allowed on private and public networks ever since, it is still in the list now, I checked.
I turned Windows Firewall and AVG completely 100% off, same issue. I can not ping mp05.maniaplanet.com, and I can not load the web page.
It is highly likely that my ISP is blocking it, they have done this before. They block random websites they -think- are bad. If they get a spam message from any web server, they blacklist the entire server, anything coming from that IP address, even if other websites are on that same server. Doesn't matter to them. They'd probably block an entire country if they could.
I have had issues with activating another game called Assassin's Creed 3 because of port blocking. I had to go to town in order to get my stuff activated because once in game, I'm not allowed to connect to the game account due to my home internet. It is not my router, and it is not my PC. It is my ISP. I go through multiple routers, after my router, I'm not allowed to access them anymore, even the bullet2HP which is hanging 40 feet above ground attached to my dish, I'm not allowed to access it and it could be the one blocking everything. Or it could be the router in the tower 5 miles away. Or even the router in the 5th jump away from my house that is constantly having high ping and network stability issues because over 200 people are going through it to get internet.
I can't open ports, I'm not allowed. I tried.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/30270697/tempimages/ports.png
Some of these ports have been opened for years, and I'm still not allowed to use them unless I pay $50 a month for a static IP as they tell me, it's apparently the only way I can open ports.
I have reason to believe that my ISP is the one blocking this game. I will find out by going to town and trying to run the game there, in town, and report back the results here. If there is no other post after mine, I will edit the results into this post to prevent a double post.
Oh yea, and I've had UAC completely disabled for years.

Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
Even though a static ipv4/ipv6 address is nice, it's not required at all to open ports.VasVadum wrote:Some of these ports have been opened for years, and I'm still not allowed to use them unless I pay $50 a month for a static IP as they tell me, it's apparently the only way I can open ports.
A static LAN ip sometimes is required, however, and those are configurable by yourself (for free).
Totally unrelated to this issue though.
Tried another DNS server yet (e.g. https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/)?

Re: [CONNECTION] [TM2] Cannot connect to the server (12029)
I've used google DNS in the past. I can't port forward on my own network at all. I have a static IP already set up for my computer and router. I will always have 192.168.1.2 and my XBOX has 192.168.1.9, I've locked them that way. All devices in my house have a static set.
I still can't port forward. I have tried google DNS in the past as well and it only helps to get through a few blocked websites. EDIT: Hah, apparently I'm still using google DNS, I forgot to ever change it back. Ah well. The ISP's DNS goes down a lot anyway.
It appears my ISP has mp05.maniaplanet.com blocked, I am able to access the site and the game and even activated my game, while in town on public internet.
