[New & Very Confused] How to buy & setup for 3 home users

If you are not already a steam user and don`t plan to be one, I would suggest to buy the normal version (there seem to be still some problems with steam version, if I read the forums correctly).

The account you generate after installing the game and insert your key (which you get, when you buy the game) is the validation, that you own the game, plus the things mk2 wrote.
In fact you can play with this account (login and password) on any pc where Maniaplanet (and the envi you bought) is installed (it doesn`t have to be your own installation), but, ofc, only once at the same time.

But I don`t know how the hot seat mode works, to be honest, I only play online. If you don`t get a clear answer here, you may buy one 3pack first and test, if it works. If every player has to have a own account, you can still buy the additional ones.

Hotseat mode is local (to be played on only one PC) and very simple: Two or more players play again each other alternately. The one who has the best time can pause and watch while the next player tries to beat the time. After a maximum time the best wins, then the game repeats on the same or on other maps.

As said before, for hotseat and splitscreen, only 1 account with registered key is required in total, the other accounts can be local.
