I say Ubisoft what with them being the publisher. Maybe they want to implement uPlay or something which would be the ultimate nail in the coffin.

Making the environments separated like this is still a terrible idea honestly, I know each TM2 title takes more time and work compared to 3 envis from TM1, but making it separated is bad, it just reduces the ammount of players overall, if the other TM2 envis could come as updates for canyon it would have a lot more players no doubt

If this is what I think it is then I'm really glad that nadeo finally woke up.

I trust people to make up their own minds on whether they want to listen to me. Is it wrong of me to assume you're intelligent? :P
I mean, this is Maniaplanet not Fox News.

You can be sure it was not the idea of Nadeo, but rather a limitation of Steam or a compromise to have them "sellable" separately there.
There is not a "buy-your-own-TrackMania" yet, where you can select which title you want to include in your purchase, and then get it as once in one complete pack.

I don't believe it's the Steam fault since they were selling their MP games 2 years before they came up with a steam version

Steam had nothing to do with it seeing as they had already chosen their path when they released Canyon thus Nadeo CHOSE to release environments seperately.

It was a business decision which has backfired horribly.

Ya, however in the non-steam version of maniaplanet all the titles and environments are a part of the same program, not completely separate games like they are on Steam.
If Nadeo could have done the same with the Steam version I think they would have. It's not a perfect system but it's undeniably a better one than what the deal they've got with Steam right now.

Perhaps they could give ManiaPlanet as free game in Steam now, with the new demo,
and convert Canyon, Valley, Stadium and ShootMania to DLC in Steam.
