Typical answer : when it's done.

MP3 just came out a couple of months ago :p
It shouldnt become a habit to redesign it every year. Just 1 epic design for 5years would be way better.

People are designing their own menus, a lot of people are complaining about design ( including me ) and the different styles & then they just do it again. Makes me a little sad. Ah well :)

Absolutely right, Image

I totally agree, although the definition of what a "epic" design is a separate discussion ;)

Besides that, It looks that this design is much more minimalist. windows8 style... Personally i like it but there's still much work that could be done on the menu itself more than the design.

(TMUF menu feed was nice)

Nah. ;) That phrase, in the context of game development, goes back (at least) as early as id Software in the early '90s, and has been used by plenty other game developers since.

Hey everyone, thanks for your feedback. I see some interesting arguments here.

but its anyway annoying for me that there are 3 different designs for maniahome, Titles and Store.
You might have noticed the Store now matches the look of Maniaplanet system menus (blue window, light blue header, blue and green buttons to indicate default choices, etc.). The old design, although looking kind of cool, was not really scalable, or maintainable. If we want to build a solid Maniaplanet system, we need to make choices that make sense on the long run. So we decided to trade the "cool look" for the "maniaplanet charter". It might be a little less seducing than before (for now), but bear in mind a couple of points:

- Habits play a big role in how we perceive things. Try to use it, and get used to it first.

- Having a unified charter helps staying agile ; obviously it's a lot of work to define an efficient charter on such a complex system, but we are getting there slowly but surely.

So here's my advice: let it rest for a week, and then tell me what your think!

So it means that the great look of the ManiaHome will be replaced by this horror as well ?
That's not a prefect ManiaHome but i prefer the actual one than any futur design like the store style.

"this horror" is subjective, and not very constructive if you're hoping for a debate. But yes that's the idea I explained above.

I dont understand how you design MP3 & then 6months later you are starting to reskin it... again & again.
Isnt there like a bazillion other things to do?
What a waste of time.

And in the end it doesnt even look good & thats why people create threads like these.

I love the game, everybody knows that by now, but pfff
