G27 worked pretty well on TMU, see feanor/meister/devil and other wheel drivers as examples for a good drivers.

About TM2, it seemed to work too, but you need to reduce the steering angle of the wheel dramatically. I used to play it with a mom and it was okay, especially rally and high speed island maps were a blast with it.
