that's what ubisoft claimed. of course, Apple didn't plan on some of their products being hacked before release even, so... ;)

additionally in todays live - every kind of game is hackable. for example even the "anti-cheat-community" or whatever it is called: STEAM have a lot of mistakes and picks out the wrong ones. so what i mean is clear, a protection would be very nice for the game at all, BUT thinking on, TM2/SM/QM will be Internet games, the protection should NOT take you into trouble like IWnet/Steam or anything like those ... so ofc, i dont know much about Ubisoft's DRM but i hope you (NADEO team) will find the right path between! ;)

I think the TMUF system as worked well, right? I don't really see a reason to move away from that system.

That said, I would really like to be able to buy a CD copy this time too, I just like to have something physical there too, y'know. Guess I'm getting old!

Yeah, I know that! But I just mean if there wasn't a change of publisher, would things change? That in itself isn't a reason to do so...

If Nadeo has a say, then it's probably not a reason. But it might be that Ubisoft gets to decide what DRM is in it. Isn't it normally a publisher thing?

I think so, yes. I'm not saying that it isn't Ubisoft's right to choose the DRM or anything like that. I'm just saying from my personal viewpoint, it doesn't look like things need to change. Notice that my viewpoint doesn't have an investment of thousands or millions of dollars involved.

It is more a discussion than that between both parties. We need to find the right balance. But yet, I have not started, I prefer to let them do some work first ^_^

Well I think that the change of publisher was needed in order to get Maniaplanet - or maybe even TM2, QM or SM - happen.

Ubisoft certainly has the resources to support a large unified platform. Maybe we won't need coppers any more to limit server usage
