Have I mentioned me and Toffe are in #mp-cdn on QuakeNet? Maybe someone wants to join, so we can plan better :)

BTW: some Domain suggestions?
  • mp-cdn.org
  • maniacdn.org
  • maniamirrors.org
  • mpmirrors.org
  • ...
or the same with .net TLD maybe

My favourite would be maniacdn.org

My suggesstions (with or without "-"):
mania-storage.com
mania-cloud.com
mania-service.com
mania-static.com
mania-hosters.com
mania-location.com
mania-association.com

My favorites are:
mania-cloud.com
mania-mirrors.com

I prefer a .com domain. The system should not be written in NodeJs, because this is not on every cheap shared host account available, i prefer PHP in this case too. A cronjob can be started remotely from the main server on a cheap shared host account, in this case we could have much more conformer (i guess).

Idea for a API function:
The mirror should be able to send a API call that disables the mirror (on traffic maximum reached, update downtime, ...) for a given time, or till manually re-enabling.
