I've found it is generally good to keep your track under 5000-6000 coppers, i made a test map that had something like 7000 coppers but the performance really started to take a dive for some people that tested it. I ended up taking out a lot of detail to get it under 6000.

The tracks I've released have all been between 4000-6000 and run fine on the computers I've tested it on.
