[CRASHES] TM2 - Trackmania 2 won't start [win7]

As far as I know it shouldn't be. I have about 90+ games on steam that all run fine (Bad company 2, Torchlight, Trine, TF2, Crysis, etc. etc.)

I have never had video artifacting in any of those games, or display driver stopping.. this shouldn't be a video issue as the process is running in the background but nothing is actually shown on screen.. I'm not getting a black screen. I can still see whatever is on my desktop or whatever program I happen to have open at the time of launch.

I've tried compatibility mode as well, run as admin (I'm already on my admin account), and various settings.. no dice.

Q6600 @3.50ghz
AMD HD5870 1GB Vram
4GB Ram
2560x1440 native desktop resolution.
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Also, I really hope someone who works for Nadeo can give some input...

I know you're likely already on an admin account, but have you right clicked and click "Run as admin?"

Yes I have tried that, heh.

Well I just hope a dev or someone in affiliation with Nadeo can shed some light on this, I know I can't be the only one with this problem.. maybe the client itself isn't made to handle 64 bit systems? Shooting in the dark here..

It's working for me too, and I'm using a similar setup: Win7 x64, ATI 5850 @2560x1440, latest Catalyst drivers etc.

Have you got any virus protection, firewall or other security software that could be interfering? I have a feeling it connects out very soon after starting, so it might be worth temporarily disabling those to confirm they're not causing the issue.

Yes I have tried turning off firewall, turning off my antivirus etc, no dice. Nadeo any clue? Who do I contact in case I require a refund?no use in wasting money if it doesn't run.

try by running the game with window XP service pack 2 --> go right click on the launcher, proprieties, compatibility: then put an "x" on "execute program in compatibility mode" then pick window xp service pack 2.

If service pack 2 doesn't work, try with service pack 3

maybe the translation of the words isn't correct, but the way is that

I've tried all the compatibilities last night, I'll try again when
I get home from work.. 9 hours from now.. If it doesn't work then.. Is there a way for you to get a refund? Or is a charge back needed?

before thinking about a refund.. i will try everything possible..

Try to restore your computer to a previous status, maybe before some win. updates.. (make a back up of the files, immages and other suffs you got on your pc after that restore point).
Restore to the previous status, and reinstal TM2.
then try if it works.
If not, check if all your drivers are up to date, especially graphic drivers.
