I think it should be in, too. But not as powerful as in TM1. I'd say if you press brake it takes about half a second to stop rotating (they did this to sideways rotating too).

As mentioned in the french forum, the gameplay won't be changed so you must stay with this air control ;)

I thought it would be. Is there any list of things which are "locked", and it's futile to suggest changes?

My understanding is that everything related to the gameplay is locked, including blocks (although I'm pretty confident they'll consider adding new blocks later on) and car behavior, while everything related to the graphics is subject to change (for example Hylis stated that they might add DX10.1/DX11 support and MSAA with Nice/VeryNice shaders after the game's release).
Anyway, now that we're weeks away from the release I'm pretty sure their priority is to squash bugs, and the suggestions are more likely to be taken into account for the next environement.

The problem with changing the gameplay when your game is so close to release is that if you change one little thing it might affect the balance of the whole game. For example if you add air control it might make some tracks much easier to complete, so they'd have to recheck every single map of the Solo mode and recreate the ones that are made easier (same for the hundreds of multiplayer maps that have already been created by users).
Also they'd need to spend many hours with players in order to determine the right amount of air control, and honestly it's too late for that.

Anyway you can continue to make suggestions ;)

Too late? Nah, but if they didn't have the airbrake from the start, i don't think they will add it now. It's not a decision you make a couple of weeks from release.

The air brake feature (read: "air stabilizer") in TM1 did add some additional component to the game. Using it in the right moment could make a big difference at the end. It's a pity that they got rid of it. Perhaps too many people didn't know about this feature so they decided to remove it.

For me it's a definite drawback in gameplay.

BTW: If you break your brake you can't brake anymore. ;)

It may have been removed because it was the #1 cause of landing bugs. Landing perfectly flat on your wheels would cause you to get snagged and lose speed.
