Spammers and trollers are few. I never met one of them or only angry people who had custom nicknames meaning they bought the game.tcq wrote: ↑06 Jun 2017, 14:12 If you allow the access of chat for demo players, you will have two things to reconsider.
1) People asking for help as they are newcomers
2) People creating new accounts on the fly just to spam/terrorise channels while being in no fear of getting banned as they can simply create a new account.
If I compare this to populations, I will definitely go for the option to not allow chat for demo players. Because the small minority of 2) is enough to dishearten new players joining a game.
TMNF has a chat open to all and insults were quite uncommon so this is not a reason to disable the chat.
I was never dishearten due to stupid guys. You're right, a deteriored community isn't nice but insulters / trollers are not so much on ShootMania / TrackMania and if one day a huge amount of player was insulting our community, maybe this system could be re-enabled.
Why should new players be punished because of this minority ? Still thinking this restriction should be removed because it's frustrating for new players and servers feels empty. A chat is really important to communicate especially in team modes
