Hi fellow Tetrisfans,

I just found out there's a shoutbox now, only thing, there's completely nothing I can do anymore. The only thing I still can do is push the close button... Is there a bug or a problem with the new shoutbox, new layout, ... or does it have other reasons why I can't play anymore?? :(

hoping I can play soon again...

Hi Marcel,

sorry for the inconvenience and all the extra work I gave you now by discovering the possibility I can play my favorite game online on mania planet...
I just have some ideas for some extra modes, as I won't be able to score several in one mode in the future :)
- as fast as possible a certain number of points (f.e. 10000, 15000)
- the longest series of tetrisses (4 lines in one time) and game ends when less than 4 are eliminated.
still hoping to be able to play again soon (have you blocked me?? :) :))

In the end, you are indirectly helping me to improve the Manialink more and more. In the end, having multiple highscores per player was a stupid idea, so now I take the chance to clean up this mess :D
Thanks for the ideas of the game modes, I will think about them. (I already have some other modes under construction, let's see when any of them gets ready to be released :p )


To your problem: No, I do not have anybody banned from the Manialink (and if I would have, you would get printed a nice message saying that you are banned ^^), so there must be another reason for your problem.

Please try the following:
Restart Maniaplanet and revisit the Tetris Manialink (maybe empty the game's cache through the launcher before starting it). If you still cannot click anything except "Close", open the ManiaScript Console with Ctrl+G: Is anything written within there?

I still have problems with playing :( I cleaned the cache of the game, didn't work. When I try to play and press ctrl+G, I get next message:

Compilation failed for Compil Fail.
[3, 1433]Incorrect syntax : syntax error, unexpected MANIASCRIPT_TYPE_TEXT

I do see the text with latest 5 highscores and the select game mode in overlap. I have taken a print screen, but I'm not able to show it here...

By itself it wasn't that big of a problem to allow multiple highscores per player, I'm just an addict, has been long time I could play tetris again. And maybe you will need to block multiple names of same player by IP-blocking... just thinking in advance if I really still would like to be the top 10/20 :twisted:

Nice to hear you're already busy with some new modes, if you need someone to test them? :yes: :D

Thank you for the error message. That there are some boxes in overlay is caused by the ManiaScript compilation error: As ManiaScript is never executed, the Manialink cannot hide those boxes which should not visible visible at first ;)

The position of the error is a bit strange: The ManiaScript should be valid there. Do you have the optional Updates of Maniaplanet installed? (Go to the playerpage and go to Account -> Optional Updates. If not yet selected, choose "Yes" and restart Maniaplanet. The game should now load some updates, which fixes some bugs of ManiaScript.) [If not, I have to check this part of the Manialink, as it already should recognize too old client versions ^^]

To the multiple Highscores: All highscores are assigned and validated with your Maniaplanet account. Only with multiple Maniaplanet accounts you will be able to have multiple Highscores after the modification ;) (And I think this should not be a problem, as each Maniaplanet account costs another 20€/$/whatever, which supports Nadeo if you really want to have multiple Highscores :D )

Here's a proposal for the flood problem: only send that many notifications per player per day. You could for example run a cron that send once a day the best score of the player. Obvious drawback of this solution is the delay between the score and the notification itself though.
Please do not PM for support. Instead, create a thread so that everyone can contribute or benefit from the answer! 8-)

you saved my day :clap: I can play again now, my account didn't allow updates as you mentioned...

for other modes, i thought (during work :D ) maybe there's a possibility to create multiplayer games, will become more interactive tetris game, with possibility to chat?? just thinking... :mrgreen:

In the current version of ManiaScript, it is not possible to receive any data from the server without reloading the whole Manialink (which then would erase any gaming progression). So it is currently not possible to add any multiplayer mode to the Manialink. (I also thought alot about this, but without the support from ManiaScript, it is simply impossible ;))

oh ok multiplayer would have been nice even though :D

what about a fastest clearence mode? start high with almost full board, then try to get to bottom line as fast as possible, or with least number of blocks, that way the puzzling of tetris gets tested.

or maybe a mode where every x seconds a line appears at the bottom with one missing block... and the line appears faster and faster...

once I get thinking... :D
