I get to play games when they have gone to bed, I would rather spend my time playing actual games than messing around reading forums.

Look ... So my expectations where wrong ... Ive owned the the original TM pretty much from release, With that having 8(if i remember correctly)environment i was under the impression this new TM2 would have plenty of new environments too!

Instead TM2/ubisoft have now jumped on this new "lets see how much money we can make out of these suckers" band wagon and we are now gonna be charged for new environments!

The original Trackmania had only 3 Environments......Sunrise has had 3 Environments only too.
Only United falls out of it because that was a "compilation" of the 2 other trackmania titles + the Nations Envi.

And for those games you have paid more as for this....

TM sunrise cost me £17 brand new boxed, which i thought was maybe a little too cheap, but it did have 3 environments and more game modes etc. I don't mind paying £20 for canyon but i doubt i'll buy the following ones unless there's some sort of discount, i would have to see how popular they are, because if they aren't as popular, i'll be happy to stick with Canyon anyway.

Your expectations were not only wrong, but a little daft. You know about "island" and "bay" and "desert" and then you see TM2: Canyon for less than half the cost of the original Trackmanias at launch.... little logic goes a loooong way.

The reason is simple, Nadeo is working on multiple games at the same time, Canyon, ShootMania, QuestMania, and probably multiple environments. It's understandable that they prioritise ManiaPlanet before TrackMania.

The cost and investment to create one TM² environment is much higher than for any of the previous environments. This has been posted by the devs some months ago. It cost something like 8x more I think? Don't quote me on that. It was somewhere between 5x to 8x as much I think.

To get Canyon for its current price is a real bargain, especially considering the number of hours you'll get to enjoy it.

There's nothing saying you have to know everything about the game before buying it, but all the trailers showed only one environment, and the title itself says the name of the environment. Did you expect multiple Canyons? or?

Anyway, everyone makes mistakes. It's how we live with them and move forward that counts.
