Sounds like it may be time for a new computer.
Or, maybe, you could get someone to render tracks for you but then you've got to wait for them to come back to you.

Re: Shadow calculation time.
My laptop meets the minimum specs nadeo listed, therefore i don't believe these huge calculations are just because of my pc. Unless nadeo designed calculation to take hours which i deem highly unlikely.
Re: Shadow calculation time.
Have you tried computing them with different qualities? You originally said you're calculating them on HQ. HQ will obviously take a lot longer to compute. Especially for your laptop (specifically your CPU). I'm not saying your CPU is crap, but rather not powerful enough to compute HQ shadows quick enough.
It is only an i3 CPU and your laptop is a laptop. Most laptops/notebooks aren't built with gaming in mind (excluding those that are).

That's actually very likely buddy.marazengo wrote:Unless nadeo designed calculation to take hours which i deem highly unlikely.
EDIT:
Hey that's actually a very fun, challenging, nicely calculated, very nicely executed track! I love it!

Re: Shadow calculation time.
The only trick is a map can't be played online unless everything is fully calc'd....fastforza wrote:Have you tried computing them with different qualities? Re: Shadow calculation time.
That's not a real problem, as you can play online with a map in which the shadows have been calculated with the "Fast" setting.

Re: Shadow calculation time.
so then what is the point of going for the HQ or even the Normal Quality?

Re: Shadow calculation time.
It's not the matter of quality here. You can use Ultra or High Quality if your PC is powerful enough. But you only need Fast, and thus getting reasonable shadows calculation time, if you have a machine that isn't built for gaming.

Re: Shadow calculation time.
Why not have it look better if your pc can handle it. I would assume once the calculation is done and saved with your track it doesn't take any longer to load but looks better.banjee wrote:so then what is the point of going for the HQ or even the Normal Quality?

Re: Shadow calculation time.
I still have one question.
I compute all my tracks on HQ but do the display settings (in the launcher) have an effect on the quality too?
