So, what you're saying is you joined Ubi for no point other than marketing and advertising? Because you said they're -not- giving you any more funds, which is, frankly, draconian, and sounds a lot like the American business model of doing things...*wince* If they're more concerned with -their- profits than making great games, then I think you should look elsewhere for sponsors that will advertise for you--especially since we haven't seen any effect of this Ubi advertising...<_<gouxim wrote:Yes it would! For the record, we're almost twice as much today as we were a year ago, we opened a new office (nadeo live) etc.
This is the kind of comments that we see often about Ubisoft. It's really far from reality. It's like someone from a poor country saying: "because you're from a rich country, you're rich".fastforza wrote:You have the funds *cough Ubisoft *cough*.
In any publishing company (whether it's video games, movies, books, etc.) every project has its own budget. For instance it's not because COD made 1B revenues that everyone at activis got a bonus.

I didn't say: "they do not give us any more funds".
I said: "it's not because they're a big publisher that we have as much cash flow as we want".
Ubisoft made the Maniaplanet project possible. Without them, as an independant studio, it would have been very difficult to support such a production on such a long run.
