Thank you for replying, even if people see it as generic, at least you maintain what you say and I applaud you for that.

Trackmania to me is never about the number of people that are buying or playing the game, but rather the amount of fun people are having playing it and like Hylis has said often, Canyon won't appeal to everyone at first, but other components of Maniaplanet might and if they see like an event or competition happening via Valley and Canyon, they might get Canyon to join in the fun. It's a small chance, but at least it MIGHT happen.

I have total faith in what you guys are doing. I've liked every game I've seen from Nadeo so far and in my opinion they only get better. I even liked Virtual skipper although, I got bored with it after a while, but it was cool and innovative. Point is... Keep up the good work.

Yes yes, all in all very nice ideas but nothing really new is said here. Targets, intentions, quantity, quality etc. etc.
I'd like to warn the whole Nadeo and Ubi team to be carefull and don't let us wait too long otherwise there will be nobody left here.

I think people would quit even sooner if new features or titles were released too early and were riddled with bugs. Actually, we should be encouraging Nadeo to learn from what happened with Canyon and allow a little more time to work out the bugs, even before the open beta starts. You may just see it as words, but when Hylis says they are going for quality and quantity, that's quite ambitious. That will take time.

But game development isn't something new to the folks at Nadeo, they've been developing games since 1999. And the TM series itself has had over 10 major releases and/or updates. I trust that for future releases they'll take the time to get it right.

I really find it hilarous that many people find it so exuberating when Hylis writes a post like this. Every time it's the same story. Nothing new- I should have known. None of my questions answered.
We have no targets, but intentions.
Really? I can't believe Nadeo really didn't have any specific targets or idea of how big things are going. I'm not sure, maybe in translation something was missed, but when you say something like 'our intentions are to have the same effect on the FPS community like we did in the Racing community' then that is already a target. So it's all a little confusing...

I'm not criticising, or saying Nadeo suck in general, all I want is some stats of how things are going from Nadeos point of view. I guess I can't have this, right?

Is Microsoft telling you how many windows systems they wanted to distribute in comparison to the sold ones? In my opinion, such detailed stats are to keep inside a company and have nothing to do with outside marketing.

Pffff everybody can answer that one^^

Microsofts target is to sell a copy of windows to every pc owner in the world. The results are they succeeded except for those who use apple or unix :roflol:

And Microsoft is great at releasing bug infested software. This is one of the reasons I really like Nadeo. They take the time to try and release software that is as bug free and 'water tight' as possible. I prefer to wait for something good than to get frustrated with software that was rushed out the door in an effort to stay ahead of the competition. Almost every game I've played from Microsoft has been pure crap in my opinion. They feel rushed and unfinished. Concepts are nothing if they are never realized.

Well Nadeo take time and release games with bugs too.
This is not a good deal.
I done the beta of Age of Empire Online and i noticed in november 5 bugs.
They gifted me some game KEY for my work and the final game is very funny.
Microsoft token 1 year to test his game, but in the same time he released F2P so all can see how the game really is and decide to buy it or not.
And i bought for me and for my dad even if there aren't much players online.
